You'll need a store first. Then go to My animals and choose Add animal.
Every listing starts as a draft. Fill in the form, save it, and switch it on once nothing is missing. The panel beside the form keeps a running list of what's left to fix.

General information
- Category, the section it goes in, such as Royal Pythons or Leopard Geckos. It decides which morphs you can pick.
- Animal title, what buyers see first.
- Your reference, your own note or stock code. Buyers never see it.
- Type, where the section holds several species. Species appears too for the "Other" types, so you can name it ("Dumeril's boa").
- Sex, Maturity, Birth year and, if you know it, Birth month. A hatch date in the future is refused.
- Weight in grams.
- Eating unassisted (at least three feeds), for a baby. Tick it once it is.
- Proven breeder for an adult, and Last clutch laid for a proven female.
Morphs
Start typing in Morphs and pick from the list. Each morph becomes a chip. Where a gene can be carried more than one way, choose how this animal carries it: Visual, Super, Het or Possible het, with a percentage for a het if you have one. A combo, such as Bumblebee, brings in every gene in its recipe.
A wild-type animal is Normal. Every listing needs at least one morph.
Can't find a morph? Use Morph not here? Let me know, name it, and we'll add it. Sections with no morph list yet give you a free-text box instead: write the morph as you would on a card.
Morphs on REPTA's Deleterious Gene Policy prohibited list, such as Spider royals, can't be listed. Some morphs carry a welfare note or breeding guidance, which shows on your advert automatically.
The rest of the facts
- Line or bloodline, optional, such as "Rialto".
- Locality or subspecies, where the animal is from, if you know. Add more than one for a documented cross, with percentages if you know them.
- Origin: captive-bred or self-produced. Farmed, captive-hatched, imported and wild-caught animals can't be listed. Country of origin is where it was bred.
- Article 10 certificate number, for an Annex A species. A certificate covers one animal, so list each certificated animal on its own. For a gene from an Annex A line, such as a boa carrying Albino (Argentine), confirm the animal only carries the gene, or add its number.
- Diet and Description.
Lineage
Name the Sire and Dam and pick their morphs. Buyers use the pairing to judge what a hatchling can carry.
Sale info
- Price in pounds.
- Quantity, from 1 to 50. Several identical animals? Set the quantity and the price is for each one. Selling a pair or group that only goes together? Switch on Sold together as one group and the price is for the whole group.
- Negotiable: will consider offers, or firm price.
- Status: For sale, On hold, Sold or Not for sale.
- Getting it to the buyer: tick every way you'll do it. Collection, Courier (an APHA-authorised live-animal courier, never Royal Mail or parcel post) and Local delivery within so many miles. For a courier, choose whether it's included, a flat fee or a price range.
On the Hobbyist and Breeder plans you can also schedule a draft: set Go live on and At, and it publishes itself.
Photos
Add up to five photos, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB each. The first is the cover; move, rotate or remove any of them. Your plan decides how many buyers see. The rest stay on the listing and show the moment you upgrade.
Use your own photos of this animal. A photo tagged Stock holds the listing back until you replace it.
Going live
Save the listing, then switch on Active on marketplace. Before it can go live it needs:
- a photo of the animal
- the year of hatching
- a price
- where it was bred
- a type, and a species name for an "Other" type
- at least one morph
- the Article 10 number, where one is needed
- for a baby, the eating unassisted tick
What a listing can't say
Some words are refused when you save, to keep bask in line with the Pet Advertising Advisory Group's standards: pregnant or gravid animals, swaps, stud or loan, postal delivery and "free to a good home". Saying "no swaps" is fine.
Phone numbers, email addresses, messaging apps and links off bask are refused too. Buyers message you through bask, which keeps both of you safe.
