Acceptable Use & Community Rules

These rules apply to everything you post or do on Bask: listings, private messages, store profiles, reviews, questions and feedback. They exist to keep the community honest, safe and lawful. Breaking them can lead to content removal or account suspension.

You must not

• post anything illegal, or use Bask to break the law;
• attempt to defraud, scam or mislead other users;
• misrepresent an animal (its genetics/morphs, sex, age, health or origin), or use photos that are not yours or not of the animal for sale;
• harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
• spam, post duplicate or bulk unsolicited content, or advertise unrelated goods or services;
• use another seller's listing, its questions or its reviews to advertise your own animals or redirect their buyers;
• impersonate another person or business, run more than one account to evade rules or bans, or list or sell on behalf of a suspended or banned seller;
• list anything outside what we allow (see the Selling & Listing Rules);
• collect or misuse other users' personal information, or post someone else's private information;
• try to disrupt, hack or overload the site.

What we expect

Be honest, be accurate, and treat other keepers with respect. Describe animals and equipment truthfully, respond fairly, and put animal welfare first.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see something that breaks these rules, please report it. The Complaints, Reporting & Moderation page explains how. Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, or suspend or permanently close your account.

Illegal adverts are removed within 12 working hours of being reported, and we run a three-strikes rule: an account that posts an illegal advert three times is closed permanently. A single serious breach can close an account immediately: an animal we do not allow, a sale to someone under 18, or a scam.

A listing that only needs reshaping, several animals in one advert or equipment inside an animal listing, is sent back to the seller to fix with no strike; see the Selling & Listing Rules. A listing that comes back unchanged is a strike.

A listing for a morph on REPTA's Deleterious Gene Policy prohibited list is refused when it is saved. One that was live before the morph joined the list is withdrawn with an email and no strike; relisting a prohibited morph after that refusal is a strike.
