Once you hold more than a few dozen animals, a page of listing cards stops working. You scroll to find the one that sold, open it, change it, save it, and go back for the next. A shop with three hundred lines can't work like that, and neither can a breeder at the end of a good season.
That's why I built the stock room. It's open now for every store on the Breeder plan.
One screen, every line
The stock room puts your whole stock on one wide screen: photo, morph, sex, year, count, price and whether it's live. A rail down the side splits it by section (Royal Pythons, Corn Snakes and so on) and shows how many drafts in each still need finishing. One search box looks across everything.
Add a line in seconds
The entry row sits at the top of the table and is always open. Type the morph, the count and the price, press Enter, and the line is saved as a draft. Year, age class and origin carry over from the line before, so typing up a clutch is quick.
You can type the count the way you'd write it on a stock list: 1.2.3 makes three lines, one male, two females and three unsexed. Each line needs its own photo, because a buyer should see the animals they're buying, and it goes live once it has one.
Sold at the door or sold on bask
Every row has two buttons, Sold in store and Sold on bask. One click takes one off the count, or marks the last one sold. If you click the wrong one, there's an Undo, and you can reverse any sale from the last seven days.
When an animal sold through bask, name the buyer from the people who messaged you about it, and they're invited to review your store. You can also note what it sold for. Only you see that figure. Once there are enough sales, the prices will go into guides showing what each morph sells for, with no names or stores attached.
A livestock list you can share
The stock room also writes your stock up the way the trade does (count, animal, year and price) as a public list on your store at /@your-handle/livestock. Copy as text puts the same list on your clipboard, with links back to each advert, ready to paste into a Facebook post or a forum. A shop with no website now has somewhere to point people.
On your phone
You take photos standing at the vivarium, so the phone view does the two jobs you need there: add a photo from the camera, and mark a sale.
Getting it
The stock room comes with the Breeder plan. On Breeder, open Stock room from your account menu or your dashboard. On Keeper or Hobbyist, you'll see it on your dashboard marked "Comes with Breeder", and the plans are here.
Everything you add also shows in My animals, so the way you list now doesn't change. The stock room help page walks through each part of it.
It was built alongside a shop. If something gets in your way, tell me.
