About the Champagne gene
What a Champagne looks like varies: colour differs enough between animals that one photograph is a poor guide to the next.
The gene is incomplete dominant with a lethal super, and co-dom in the hobby's looser usage. One copy shows. Two copies produce a homozygote that does not survive, which makes Super Champagne a genotype and a catalogue row rather than an animal on offer. Pair two Champagnes and the homozygous hatchlings are the ones lost.
Champagne is linked to a neurological condition known as 'wobble' that can affect balance and coordination. Severity varies between individuals - please research the morph and ask the seller about this specific animal before buying.
Eb Noah proved the gene out in 2005.
