About the Bongo gene

Set against the clean dark head of a normal ball python, a Bongo is bright tan, usually with a pinhole headstamp at the rear of the crown. The pattern is heavily shaken up yet clean: melted, with fewer spots and smudges, and commonly missing the dorsal stripe. That same funky patterning carries all the way down the tail.

Bongo is incomplete dominant, co-dom in the hobby's looser shorthand. The two-copy animal is catalogued on its own row as Super Bongo.

Bongo turns up in combination listings such as Bongo Clown and Bongo Spotnose Clown.

Bongo was first produced in 2012 by Eb Noah. It also appears written as Bong or Bogno, so a search that comes up empty on one spelling is worth repeating on the others.
