Bamboo Royal Pythons for sale in the UK
Bamboo tends to take over the look of whatever it is combined with and washes out a royal python's colour. It floods the dorsal stripe with blushing. Because it belongs to the Blue Eyed Leucistic complex, a white snake with blue eyes is produced by two copies, or Bamboo paired with Lesser, Butter or Mojave.

About the Bamboo gene
A single copy of Bamboo is enough to make a royal python (ball python) different from a normal. The dorsal stripe gets covered by heavy blushing while the colour looks washed away. It is a strong gene that tends to take over the look of most combos it goes into. Because it sits in the Blue Eyed Leucistic complex, it is a common route to a white snake.
Appearance
A dominant dorsal stripe runs down the back of the animal. It is usually a brighter shade than the parts it passes through, which are serrated and feature bubble-shaped alien heads between its points. High contrast is generally found in the body colour, which ranges from a light, syrupy gold to dark brown. A faint stamp and bright blushing around it is seen on the crown, which is a light tan and most often towards the rear of the head. The stripe turns jagged and bright on the tail. Super Bamboo has blue eyes and is pure white.
Genetics
The gene for Bamboo is incomplete dominant, though many in the hobby call it co-dom. One copy shows the trait, and two copies result in a Super Bamboo, which is a blue-eyed leucistic. Other members of the Blue Eyed Leucistic complex are Lesser, Butter, Mojave, Mystic, Russo, Mocha, Phantom and Special. If you pair Bamboo with any of those, you get a white, blue-eyed animal sold as a Blue-Eyed Lucy. A genetic test exists for the gene. Combinations with their own names include Uranium (Bamboo Yellow Belly), Aquila (Bamboo Enchi) and Bambee (Bamboo Spider). The gene was first produced in 2013 and EB Noah proved it in Ghana.
