A listing on bask records its genetics, sex, maturity, weight in grams, birth year, diet and delivery as separate fields. Each morph links to its own page, tagged with its inheritance mode where it is known: a REC tag means recessive.
What this is
bask is a UK marketplace for captive-bred reptiles and the kit to keep them. It covers snakes and lizards, and royal pythons are the biggest section. Browse the whole site without an account.
Early days
bask opened on 30 August 2026. The royal python section is small and most of the other sections have nothing in them yet. This is not a busy marketplace. Have a look, then check back.
A page for every gene
There are 810 morphs in the catalogue and every one of them is a filter. The pages sit one level up, at the gene: Super Banana and Het Banana both take you to the Banana page. Each page gives inheritance mode, super forms, first-produced year, the names it also goes by, and how many animals and hets are for sale now with a price band. Every page carries a welfare status. A clean gene is marked "None documented".
Filter by morph
Search on a single morph, or a whole morph family straight from its page. Then narrow by keyword, price, sex, animal type and listing status, and sort by recency, price or birth year. Every filter lives in the URL, so you can bookmark or share a set of results, and the back button works. You can compare up to four animals from one section side by side without an account.
The rest of a listing
Sire and dam are named, with their genes. The listing says whether the seller produced the animal themselves, whether it is a proven breeder, and when it last had a clutch. Diet goes down to rat or mouse, live or frozen-thawed, plus pre-killed rat. Delivery is free, flat rate or collection only, and the page points out that this is a live animal rather than a parcel. A gene with a documented hereditary concern raises an advisory on the listing. A seller cannot put an animal on sale within 15 days of changing its base price.
What an account adds
Save a listing and you get a push notification or an email if the price drops. Ask a public question, and if the seller publishes their answer every visitor can read it. Message the keeper direct from the listing or their store page; the thread lands in your inbox. Follow a store to hear when it lists something new, and to narrow your browsing to just those stores.
Equipment and stores
Racking, vivariums and husbandry kit have their own section at /equipment. Every store is listed A-Z at /breeders. A store page has its stock and its reviews on it, along with any licence the seller has declared. bask does not check that licence against a register.
What it costs a buyer
Nothing. Browsing and messaging are free, and bask takes no commission on a sale. UK only, so nothing is flown in from abroad.
