A Reverse Stripe is a leopard gecko line with a single stripe down the back. Because no one confirmed mutation exists behind it, the animal you are looking at tells you more than the name on the listing. This line is also the base of Rainbow Stripe and the lines that came from it. A plain Reverse Stripe is a different purchase from one of those named lines.
Appearance
A single stripe or sometimes a pair runs from the neck ring base to the hind legs on a Reverse Stripe. The pattern on the tail stays the same as a Striped leopard gecko's. Because the way the stripe stands out from the rest of the body varies from line to line, this is one more reason to judge the animal rather than its name.
Genetics
Because Reverse Stripe comes from selecting parents for their own striping instead of a single proven gene, it is polygenic. It has no super form and no het. The catalogue lists Reverse Stripe and Pos Reverse Stripe, where the second is for animals not yet confirmed to carry the line. It sits in no complex and has no allelic partner. Rainbow Stripe is also behind Reverse Stripe. This line was first bred by A&M Gecko and later developed further into Sykes Rainbow and Rainbow Bandits.
