Atomic Leopard Geckos
Built through selection, the Atomic is a tangerine line featuring a softer orange across the body and its deepest orange in the tail. You should buy on the animal in front of you because the depth of colour varies from gecko to gecko, even within one clutch.
About the Atomic gene
The Atomic is a tangerine leopard gecko line. This orange look was built over generations by selecting the best tangerines, and no single gene carries it. Other breeders use it as a named ingredient in their own albino and tangerine projects.
Appearance
The tail has the strongest colour of an Atomic. The body is a lighter orange than the bold tail. Because of the line-bred tangerine, the depth of orange varies between animals including siblings. Do not judge a gecko on its line name. Judge each gecko on its own colour.
Genetics
Atomic is a polygenic line of Tangerine with no super form and no het. No pairing guarantees tangerine offspring. Two names are used for it in listings, which are Atomic and Pos Atomic. It is closest to the Clown tangerine line among the other named lines, and the two are crossed. From around 2011, Matt Baronak brought Atomic to a wider audience. Scott Coltharp of Texas Lizard Connection built Atomic from A&M, Masterpiece, TUG and Albey tangerines.
